Department Procedures for Study Abroad Students who are considering going abroad first need to talk to the advisors at the Center for International Programs Abroad (CIPA) located at 1385 Oxford Road (near the Druid Hills Bookstore). Together with CIPA advisors, the student will decide on a program. The application is then turned in to the CIPA office. At this point the student needs a signature from the "academic advisor." Even if the student has an advisor, Dr. Pesavento is the person authorized to sign this form. She makes sure the student has the requisites for the program, has an idea of the classes he/she will be able to take abroad, and knows how many more units he will likely need once back at Emory. Once the student is approved for a program abroad, then he will return to Dr. Pesavento to have classes taken abroad approved as equivalent to an Emory Economics class. For more details, please see the Economics Study Abroad Guidelines. |
