Undergraduate Program

An undergraduate degree in economics leads to a great diversity of professional opportunities for those who wish to pursue graduate education as well as for those who want to enter the work force immediately after college. We offer our students a strong theoretical and empirical foundation in economics. Students may major or minor in Economics in our department. The economics major consists of 1 mathematics course, 5 foundation courses, 1 empirical course and 4 electives. The electives are divided amongst nine concentrations:

Law and Economics
International Economics
Business Policy
Public Policy
Financial Economics
Behavioral Economics
Health Economics
Economic Development
Economic History

 

Upon successful completion of the major in Economics and Emory's core curriculum, students receive a Bachelor of Arts.

The economics minor consists of 3 foundation courses and 3 electives at the 200 level or above.
